Take a Look at This: Video Overview of a Dynamic County-wide Pathways Coalition

Last week, I had the opportunity to visit with my colleagues in Berks County, Pennsylvania, who are part of a county-wide pathways coalition consisting of over a dozen school districts, a regional career technology center, a community college, the chamber of commerce, and a workforce development council among others.

Specifically, I attended an event hosted by Berks Career Ready. There were over 90 educators and school administrators in attendance and business partners from the Science and Agriculture sectors who talked about workplace trends, key shortage areas, key knowledge and skills, and partnership opportunities.  It was an excellent example of meaningful dialogue between business and education – getting beyond simple platitudes into very specific industry knowledge that can be translated back into the classroom.

Here’s a nice video that gives an overview of the coalition, recently minted as “Career Ready Berks.”
